Strawberries are among the most versatile of fresh fruits but are quite perishable as well.

 Purchase fresh strawberries only a few days before they are to be eaten these fruit cannot be bought in bulk nor in advance and they do not freez well.

At the produce section choose strawberries that are plump firm and free of mold and have a deep red color. 

Unlike other fruit strawberries don't continue to ripen after they are picked so be sure to choose the ripest  reddest strawberries as they will taste better and be packed with more nutrition. 

Many people find that medium size strawberries are sweeter and more flavourful than larger one.

  When buying are pre packed strawberries be sure that the Barrie's have not been packed to tightly as this could cause  them to be a damaged.

 Once home from the grocery 🏪 store take the time to carefully clean and store these strawberries.

From experience it is a good idea to throughly wash them and cut off the little stems from the top off these berries and store them in a clean container with a lid or plastic wrap.
